Recently in Africa there has been a problem with the Bonobo chimps. They are an endangered species, but they are one of the most fascinating animals in the world. Instead of being violent with one another the Bonobo solve there problems with sexual relations. In order to save this animal the African gov. is starting something called the Bonobo Conservation Initiative. This is a part of the forest around the size of Massachusetts, that will be protected for the Bonobo and 10 other species of chimp. Including elephants and okapi, a short necked cousin of the giraffe. This is a great, and somewhat surprising thing that the African gov. is doing this. It will deffinantly increase the bonobo population. Which is a great thing, the BCI is a great idea.
